Technology News on Super Wi-Fi

In recent technology news, Canada is looking at adopting super WiFi, which is a high speed wireless internet technology that can travel up to 100 km. Super WiFi has already been approved for implementation in the US, and the term was first used by the US FCC to describe a wireless technology that operates on the unused spectrum that was previously used by TV stations transmitting analog signals.

This so-called white space must be cleared for use in Canada before it will be free for the transmission of WiFi service. Those in rural areas may benefit the most from super WiFi, as many in the US and Canada still suffer with limited access and service. Super WiFi is also known as the Wireless Regional Area Network, and it could offer speeds up to 22 megabits per second with a very robust signal.
